New market or language

Presence changes by market more than Meaning does. The same proof needs new corroboration, new channels and often a new vocabulary. A translated page is not a localized presence, and a US-centric source map says nothing about who answers the question in another country.

When to use it

Entering a geography, language, vertical or platform where the source ecosystem, the buyers and the competitors are different.

Where to start

Presence, with a Meaning check. Confirm the ICP and need survive the move, then map the new source and channel ecosystem before producing anything.

The work

Define. Prove. Distribute. Enable.

Define
  • Confirm ICP, need and disqualifiers in the new market; adjust terminology, units, laws and examples.
  • Local prompt universe in the local language, not translated prompts.
  • Entity relationships that matter locally: partners, regulators, marketplaces, places.
Prove
  • Local proof: customers, outcomes, experts and reviews from the market itself.
  • Independent corroboration from the publishers and analysts that market trusts.
Distribute
  • Local channel-by-ICP map; the channels that work at home may not exist here.
  • Presence in the local third-party sources that AI systems and buyers consult for this market.
  • Competitor source gaps mapped per market, closed only where relevant.
  • Paid reach in local formats carrying localized proof messages.
Enable
  • Hreflang, local URLs and market-specific structured data; local business facts where applicable.
  • Feeds, marketplaces and directories per market from one fact register with market-specific fields.
  • Local surfaces: voice assistants, in-store and out-of-home formats that differ by country.
  • Native-language review of every machine-facing fact.
Measure

Use a baseline, not a vibe.

Presence assessed by market, platform and source type; local prompt coverage; local independent mentions; market-specific engagement and qualified outcomes.

Caution

Shipping translated US pages and a global source map is the fastest way to be present and unfound.

Run the audit first.

The playbook assumes you know the constraint. The 24-statement audit takes ten minutes and tells you which pillar and which reader to start with.
